Day 1

Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo

Ueno Park
Upon arrival at Narita International Airport, clear customs with your luggage and exit to the Arrivals Lobby.

Presnt your transfer coupon at the Limousine Bus Counter and then board the next available transfer from the aiport to your accommodation at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. (90 min)

Your accommodation at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel is directly accross the road from Shinagawa Station. The Shinagawa area is the ideal place to stay in Tokyo for its convenient location and access to a wide range of restaurants and shops.

Use your JPY 1,500 Suica Card to use the Tokyo JR train and subway system. Just swipe your card any time you make a journey and "top up" your card as required at any train station.

Day 2

Day 2: Tokyo sightseeing

Takeshita Dori (Street)
This morning you will be collected from the Shinagawa Prince Hotel at 07:50am for your Tokyo Morning Tour operated by Japan Holiday Tours. Your tour will conclude in the Ginza shopping district at approximately 1:00pm. You will be guided by an English-speaking Japanese local and transported by coach to the following sites:

Tokyo Tower - Enjoy a panoramic view of the famous Tokyo skyline from the main observation platform;

Meiji Shrine - The finest example of Japanese shrine architecture nestled in a peaceful, picturesque park containing over 120,000 trees;

Imperial Palace East Garden - Enjoy a pleasant walk in the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, of historical interest and scenic beauty. (Mon. & Fri. Visit Imperial Palace Plaza, Double Bridge, instead of East Garden) Visit the inner moat, 15-feet thick walls and gnarled pine trees surrounding the 250-acre fortress, home of the Emperor and Empress);

The tour disbands in the Ginza shopping district. Take time to explore the Ginza's famous upmarket shopping, numerous department stores and wide range of boutiques, galleries and dining. The basement of any Japanese department store is home to an incredible food court where foods are expertly prepared and presented for sale.

Post tour, board a subway to Tokyo Station and then board a local train to Akihabara Station. To most foreign visitors Akihabara is known as "Electric City" due to hundreds of electronic stores found in this district. In recent years Akihabara has become home to a number of shops specialising in Japanese animation "Anime and Manga" which is growing increasingly popular around the world.

Next travel two stops north of Akihabara to Ueno Station and visit the Ameyoko Ueno Markets. There are over 500 shops that sell everything from basic foods to high-class imported goods at reasonable prices and is always crowded with local shoppers.

In the evening return to Shinagawa Station using the Yamanote Line.

Day 3

Day 3: Mount Fuji Day Tour

Electronic District, Akihabara
From 07:50am board your Mount Fuji & Hakone full day tour operated by Japan Holiday Tours.

*Those travelling during winter and autumn should bring warm clothes. Please note contents of this tour "may" be cancelled in the case of extreme weather conditions.

Today's tour will include the following highlights:

A drive to the Tomei Expressway-Fuji Sky Line 5th Station - Enjoy the magnificent scenery of rural Japan as your drive to the 5th Station of Mt Fuji.

Enjoy lunch at the Hakone Lake Hotel

Hakone Sky Gondola - Enjoy the panoramic views of Hakone as you ride on the Sky Gondola

Owakudani Boiling Valley - visit these ancient craters where you can smell the sulfurous fumes and see clouds of steam rise from the crevases. A popular activity is to try one of the black coloured eggs which are boiled in the sulfurous hot spring water.

Pirate Boat cruise on Lake Ashi - Cruise across the majestic Lake Ashi enjoying the picturesque scenery of this crater lake.

Return to Shinagawa by bullet train - this 35 minute ride on a Shinkansen will transport you at speed and in comfort from from Odawara to Shinagawa.

Day 4

Day 4: Tokyo - Odaiba

Rainbow Bridge, Odaiba
Continue your sightseeing of Tokyo. You may like to visit Odaiba, Tokyo's modern amusement development where you can enjoy shopping, delicious food, entertainment and a view of Tokyo Bay.

From Shinagawa Station board a Yamanote Line train three stations to Shimbashi Station. At Shimbashi Station, take Yurikamome Line unmanned monorail across the 918 metre span Rainbow Bridge to Daiba Station (14 min).

Odaiba was built on the reclaimed land in Tokyo Bay. This ultra-modern island is home to the Fuji TV Studio, Toyota Motor Company Show Room, Palette Town giant ferris wheel, Venus Fort Shopping Complex which is modelled on an 18th Century European city, the Museum of Maritime Science, Odaiba Marine Park, and MegaWeb Sega Game Centre.

A visit to the Oedo Onsen Monogatari volcanic hot spring theme park is an excellent way to soak away the stresses of travel. Luxuriate in open air, foot, sand and steam baths with Japanese style massage services also available. The natural hot spring water is pumped from a thermal spring 1400 meters underground. *Tatoos must be covered

Day 5

Day 5: Depart Tokyo

Depart Japan
Spend your last day in Tokyo completing any final sightseeing or shopping.

Check out from the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and leave your luggage in storage at the porter's desk for your later return.

Using your transfer coupon board the Limousine Bus from the Shinagawa Prince Hotel to Narita International Airport. (90 min) This bus must be booked in advance at the Limousine Bus Counter within the lobby.

Be sure to check in for your scheduled flight at least 2 hours prior to its departure.
